β€œFine” can sometimes mean bored, lonely, or just stuck on a screen. The Club gives your child a chance to be active, social, and productiveβ€”helping them build confidence, stay engaged in school, and make positive choices.

I’m not sure my child will want to comeβ€”how do you make it fun?2025-05-14T16:40:29+00:00

If your child struggles with homework, spends most afternoons alone, or seems disconnected or restless, the Club can make a big difference. Our environment is structured but funβ€”with caring adults who truly get kids.

Every day feels like a new adventure! From sports to art, STEM to leadership games, kids get to try new things, hang with friends, and just be themselves. Once they visit, most kids are asking, β€œCan I stay longer?

What if my child needs help making friends or struggles socially?2025-05-14T16:40:29+00:00

That’s exactly why we’re here. The Club is a welcoming, judgment-free zone where kids can build social skills in a safe, supportive setting. Our staff is great at helping shy or struggling kids feel like they belong.

🐯 I have younger children. Is the Club a good place for them?

My child is shy or sensitiveβ€”will they fit in?2025-05-14T16:40:28+00:00

They will. The Club is a place for kids of all personalities and backgrounds. We’re especially intentional about helping new or quiet members feel included, supported, and at home.

How do you keep things organized with so many kids?2025-05-14T16:40:28+00:00

What if there are older kids who are loud or act out?2025-05-14T16:40:28+00:00

It’s a common concernβ€”and one we take seriously. Older youth have their own dedicated space and programming, and we set clear expectations for respectful behavior at every level. If someone is disruptive, we address it quickly and professionally. This is a place forΒ growth, not chaos.

Is the Club safe for younger kids?2025-05-14T16:40:27+00:00

Yesβ€”safety is our top priority. We group kids by age and create routines that match their energy, learning needs, and maturity. Staff are trained to keep things positive, structured, and fun for every age group.

πŸ€” What Do Kids Actually Do at the Club?

What kinds of activities happen after school?2025-05-14T16:40:29+00:00

Every day is a mix of structured learning, active play, and hands-on fun. Kids might be inside doing a STEM project or outside playing a group game. We create a balance of movement, creativity, and focused time so kids stay engaged and excited to come back.Β  Activities are clustered by age so that students can thrive with their peer group.

Do you help with homework?2025-05-14T16:40:29+00:00

Yes! We set aside dedicated homework time each afternoon. Staff are available to answer questions and help kids stay on track, so families can breathe a little easier at the end of the day.

Is this just babysitting, or are there real learning opportunities?2025-05-14T16:40:29+00:00

This is much more than β€œjust watching kids.” We create an environment where kids explore new ideas, try creative projects, and build everyday life skillsβ€”all in a setting that’s welcoming, upbeat, and fun.

Can my child explore creative or tech-based interests too?2025-05-14T16:40:28+00:00

Absolutely. We offer rotating activity areas where kids can explore things like art, music, science, building projects, and more. No two days look exactly the sameβ€”there’s always something new to try.

The Club is a place where kids learn by doingβ€”sharing space, working on teams, solving problems together, and just being part of a group. Our staff set the tone with clear expectations, kindness, and encouragement, helping kids practice respect and responsibility in a low-pressure, high-fun environment.

⚽️ How Is This Different from Sports Leagues or Other Programs?

What does my child actually get out of this?2025-05-14T16:40:26+00:00

In one afternoon, your child might finish homework, eat a hot meal, build a robot, paint a mural, play a game, and make a new friend. The value isn’t just in what they doβ€”it’s inΒ who they’re becoming.

What if I’ve tried other programs before and they didn’t work out?2025-05-14T16:40:26+00:00

We hear this a lot. What sets Boys & Girls Club apart isΒ structure, consistency, and heart.Β We’re backed by decades of experience, with proven programs that balance fun and responsibility. Give us a visitβ€”we think you’ll feel the difference.

Can my child do both the Club and their sports team?2025-05-14T16:40:25+00:00

Absolutely! Many of our members head to the Club before or after practice. We’re flexibleβ€”and here to support the full picture of your child’s life, not compete with it.

What makes this different from daycare or a sitter?2025-05-14T16:40:25+00:00

Boys & Girls Club is more than supervision. It’s a place where kidsΒ learn, grow, and exploreΒ with structured activities, supportive adults, and friends their own age. Every day is designed to help kids build confidenceβ€”not just pass the time.

My child plays in a sports leagueβ€”why would they need Boys & Girls Club too?2025-05-14T16:40:25+00:00

We love sports! But most leagues areΒ seasonalΒ and only last a few weeks. The Club is openΒ every school day, providing a consistent space for homework help, meals, and positive peer timeβ€”even when sports aren’t in season.

πŸ›Ÿ Safety, Supervision & Staff

What happens during pickup? Can anyone take my child home?2025-05-14T16:40:27+00:00

OnlyΒ pre-approved adults with IDΒ can pick up your child. We take check-in and check-out seriously to ensure thatΒ every child leaves with the right person, at the right time.

Are kids ever left unsupervised at the Club?2025-05-14T16:40:27+00:00

Never. Kids are supervised at all times by staff or designated volunteers. From the moment they arrive to the moment they’re picked up, your child isΒ accounted for, supported, and cared for.

What do you do if there’s a behavior issue or a disruptive child?2025-05-14T16:40:26+00:00

We haveΒ clear expectations and behavior policiesΒ in place. If a child is struggling to follow the rules, we step in with coaching, redirection, and if needed, a conversation with parents. Our goal is to support growthβ€”not punishmentβ€”but we also protect the experience for all members.

Are staff trained in safety and emergency procedures?2025-05-14T16:40:26+00:00

Yes. All staff receive training inΒ youth safety, emergency response, first aid/CPR, behavior management, and more. We regularly review procedures so that we’re preparedβ€”not just for fun, but for the unexpected too.

What’s the staff-to-kid ratio?2025-05-14T16:40:26+00:00

We aim forΒ low ratios that allow personal attentionΒ and real supervision, especially during activities and transitions. Ratios may vary by age group and activity, but we always plan staffing to keep things safe, structured, and well-supported.

Who’s watching my child at the Club?2025-05-14T16:40:26+00:00

Our team is made up of trained, background-checked staff who love working with kids and know how to create safe, positive spaces. Many of our team members are also parents, coaches, or education professionals. We take our role seriouslyβ€”and with heart.
