π§ Is my child a good fit for Boys & Girls Club?
We welcome kids and teens from ages 5 to 18, with age-appropriate programs that grow with your child. Whether theyβre just starting school or navigating high school, thereβs something here for them.
Great! Many Club members play sports, take dance, or participate in other programs. BGC is a perfect complementβweβre here every weekday, providing a place to hang out, get homework done, and make friends before or after practice.
βFineβ can sometimes mean bored, lonely, or just stuck on a screen. The Club gives your child a chance to be active, social, and productiveβhelping them build confidence, stay engaged in school, and make positive choices.
If your child struggles with homework, spends most afternoons alone, or seems disconnected or restless, the Club can make a big difference. Our environment is structured but funβwith caring adults who truly get kids.
Every day feels like a new adventure! From sports to art, STEM to leadership games, kids get to try new things, hang with friends, and just be themselves. Once they visit, most kids are asking, βCan I stay longer?
Thatβs exactly why weβre here. The Club is a welcoming, judgment-free zone where kids can build social skills in a safe, supportive setting. Our staff is great at helping shy or struggling kids feel like they belong.
π― I have younger children. Is the Club a good place for them?
They will. The Club is a place for kids of all personalities and backgrounds. Weβre especially intentional about helping new or quiet members feel included, supported, and at home.
Absolutely. Every day includes a balance of active play, group games, and creative downtime. Whether itβs in the gym, outside, or through a fun team challenge, kids stay moving and engaged.
Yes. Each day includes homework help and academic support from staff who can answer questions and help kids stay on track. Weβre here to make after-school time easier for familiesβnot more stressful.
We follow a daily schedule with rotations, small group activities, and routines that give the day structure. Whether itβs homework time, active play, or creative projects, kids know what to expectβand thrive in the consistency.
Itβs a common concernβand one we take seriously. Older youth have their own dedicated space and programming, and we set clear expectations for respectful behavior at every level. If someone is disruptive, we address it quickly and professionally. This is a place forΒ growth, not chaos.
Yesβsafety is our top priority. We group kids by age and create routines that match their energy, learning needs, and maturity. Staff are trained to keep things positive, structured, and fun for every age group.
π€ What Do Kids Actually Do at the Club?
Every day is a mix of structured learning, active play, and hands-on fun. Kids might be inside doing a STEM project or outside playing a group game. We create a balance of movement, creativity, and focused time so kids stay engaged and excited to come back.Β Activities are clustered by age so that students can thrive with their peer group.
Yes! We set aside dedicated homework time each afternoon. Staff are available to answer questions and help kids stay on track, so families can breathe a little easier at the end of the day.
Definitely. Kids need to move, and we make space for it every day. Whether itβs a group game outside or active play indoors, we make sure members have a chance to burn off energy in healthy, positive ways.
This is much more than βjust watching kids.β We create an environment where kids explore new ideas, try creative projects, and build everyday life skillsβall in a setting thatβs welcoming, upbeat, and fun.
Absolutely. We offer rotating activity areas where kids can explore things like art, music, science, building projects, and more. No two days look exactly the sameβthereβs always something new to try.
The Club is a place where kids learn by doingβsharing space, working on teams, solving problems together, and just being part of a group. Our staff set the tone with clear expectations, kindness, and encouragement, helping kids practice respect and responsibility in a low-pressure, high-fun environment.
β½οΈ How Is This Different from Sports Leagues or Other Programs?
In one afternoon, your child might finish homework, eat a hot meal, build a robot, paint a mural, play a game, and make a new friend. The value isnβt just in what they doβitβs inΒ who theyβre becoming.
We hear this a lot. What sets Boys & Girls Club apart isΒ structure, consistency, and heart.Β Weβre backed by decades of experience, with proven programs that balance fun and responsibility. Give us a visitβwe think youβll feel the difference.
Absolutely! Many of our members head to the Club before or after practice. Weβre flexibleβand here to support the full picture of your childβs life, not compete with it.
Boys & Girls Club is more than supervision. Itβs a place where kidsΒ learn, grow, and exploreΒ with structured activities, supportive adults, and friends their own age. Every day is designed to help kids build confidenceβnot just pass the time.
We love sports! But most leagues areΒ seasonalΒ and only last a few weeks. The Club is openΒ every school day, providing a consistent space for homework help, meals, and positive peer timeβeven when sports arenβt in season.
π Safety, Supervision & Staff
OnlyΒ pre-approved adults with IDΒ can pick up your child. We take check-in and check-out seriously to ensure thatΒ every child leaves with the right person, at the right time.
Never. Kids are supervised at all times by staff or designated volunteers. From the moment they arrive to the moment theyβre picked up, your child isΒ accounted for, supported, and cared for.
We haveΒ clear expectations and behavior policiesΒ in place. If a child is struggling to follow the rules, we step in with coaching, redirection, and if needed, a conversation with parents. Our goal is to support growthβnot punishmentβbut we also protect the experience for all members.
Yes. All staff receive training inΒ youth safety, emergency response, first aid/CPR, behavior management, and more. We regularly review procedures so that we’re preparedβnot just for fun, but for the unexpected too.
We aim forΒ low ratios that allow personal attentionΒ and real supervision, especially during activities and transitions. Ratios may vary by age group and activity, but we always plan staffing to keep things safe, structured, and well-supported.
Our team is made up of trained, background-checked staff who love working with kids and know how to create safe, positive spaces. Many of our team members are also parents, coaches, or education professionals. We take our role seriouslyβand with heart.
